Following a successful call to \fIsem_init\fR(), the semaphore may be used in subsequent calls to \fIsem_wait\fR(), \fIsem_timedwait\fR(), \fIsem_trywait\fR(), \fIsem_post\fR(), and \fIsem_destroy\fR().
