       atomic.

           volatile int32_t QB_GNUC_MAY_ALIAS   *atomic,
           int32_t                               val
       );

PARAMS
       atomic a pointer to an integer

       val    the value to add to *atomic

DESCRIPTION
       Also acts as a memory barrier.
