.TH mfsfacl "1" "September 2024" "MooseFS 4.56.6-1" "This is part of MooseFS" .SH NAME mfsfacl \- \fBMooseFS\fP file access control lists (extended attributes) management tools .SH SYNOPSIS .B mfsgetfacl [\fB-?\fP] [\fB-adceEspn\fP] \fIOBJECT\fP [\fIOBJECT\fP ...] .PP .B mfssetfacl [\fB-?\fP] [\fB-bKknd\fP] [{\fB-s|-m|-x\fP} \fIACL_SPEC\fP] [{\fB-S|-M|-X\fP} \fIACL_FILE\fP] \fIOBJECT\fP [\fIOBJECT\fP ...] .SH DESCRIPTION These tools operate on object's \fIaccess control list\fP (\fIACL\fP) value. ACL's in \fBMooseFS\fP are compatible with Linux, so in Linux you may use \fBsetfacl\fP and \fBgetfacl\fP commands. .PP \fBmfsgetfacl\fP prints current \fIACL\fP value of given object(s). .PP \fBmfssetfacl\fP sets/changes/removes current \fIACL\fP value of given object(s). .SH OPTIONS .PP \fBmfsgetfacl\fP options: .PP \fB-a\fP - display the file access control list only .PP \fB-d\fP - display the default access control list only .PP \fB-c\fP - do not display the comment header .PP \fB-e\fP - print all effective rights .PP \fB-E\fP - print no effective rights .PP \fB-s\fP - skip files that only have the base entries .PP \fB-p\fP - don't strip leading '/' in pathnames .PP \fB-n\fP - print numeric user/group identifiers .PP \fBmfssetfacl\fP options: .PP \fB-b\fP - remove all extended ACL entries .PP \fB-K\fP - remove the access ACL .PP \fB-k\fP - remove the default ACL .PP \fB-n\fP - don't recalculate the effective rights mask .PP \fB-d\fP - operations apply to the default ACL .PP \fB-s\fP - set the ACL of file(s), replacing the current ACL .PP \fB-S\fP - read ACL entries to set from file .PP \fB-m\fP - modify the current ACL(s) of file(s) .PP \fB-M\fP - read ACL entries to modify from file .PP \fB-x\fP - remove entries from the ACL(s) of file(s) .PP \fB-X\fP - read ACL entries to remove from file .PP common options: .PP \fB-?\fP - display short usage message .SH ACL SPECIFICATION For \fB-S\fP, \fB-M\fP and \fB-X\fP option the parameter \fIACL_FILE\fP should be a path to a file containing ACL value specifications as described below (one definition per line, multiple lines possible, content after # sign is ignored, output from \fBmfsgetfacl\fP command is always a valid file content). .PP \fIACL_SPEC\fP should be one of the following: .PP [d[efault]:][u[ser]:]uid[:perms] .PP [d[efault]:]g[roup]:gid[:perms] .PP [d[efault]:]m[ask][:][:perms] .PP [d[efault]:]o[ther][:][:perms] .PP \fBd\fP means work on default ACL values instead of access values. Next part indicates whether \fBuser\fP's, \fBgroup\fP's or \fBother\fP's permissions or \fBmask\fP should be set. If that part is ommited and only identifier is provided, it is assumed to be user indentifier. If user or group is indicated, if there is no identifier, default user's or group's permissions are modified. Identifier can be a string or a number. Permissions can be in the form of letters, any subset of rwx or number. Zero, empty string or dash means no permissions for \fB-s\fP and \fB-m\fP. For \fB-x\fP, permissions must be ommited. Multiple specification can be supplied, divided by comma. .SH "REPORTING BUGS" Report bugs to . .SH COPYRIGHT Copyright (C) 2024 Jakub Kruszona-Zawadzki, Saglabs SA This file is part of MooseFS.
