.SH DESCRIPTION
.B kewstaterc
stores settings that
.BR kew (1)
changes automatically at runtime as the user interacts with the
application, such as toggling notifications or adjusting the volume.
It uses the same INI-style syntax as
.BR kewrc (5):
named sections in square brackets, each containing
.IR key = value
pairs.

Unlike
.BR kewrc (5),
which the user is expected to hand-edit, kew writes to
.B kewstaterc
itself whenever the corresponding in-app setting changes. Values in
.B kewstaterc
take precedence over the same-named keys in
.BR kewrc (5),
so a setting changed from within kew will override its
.B kewrc
value on subsequent runs.

If
.B kewstaterc
is deleted, kew regenerates it with default values the next time it
writes state.
